As they say, all good things must come to an end. This week, we bid farewell to our beloved Executive Director, Jen Scully. For nearly 15 years, Jen has proven her dedication and commitment to the entire Gilda’s Club Westchester community while wearing numerous hats and holding key roles during her time here.
With a degree in art therapy, Jen began her career with us in 2007 as our Children, Teens, and Families Coordinator (CTF). She effortlessly began her work with children impacted by cancer and became the Director of CTF, then launching our now esteemed school-based program. In addition, she has held other important positions at GCW including Director of Quality Improvement, Senior Director of Program Administration, and most recently Executive Director.
“I’m so grateful to have spent nearly 15 years with this incredible organization,” Jen said. “It’s been an honor to work with our members, staff, board, and supporters over the years. As I close this chapter, I’m filled with gratitude for all of you.”
We are forever grateful to you, Jen! You will truly be missed!
A Warm Welcome to Julia Schwartz-Leeper
With Jen’s departure, come new beginnings. We are very excited to welcome our new Executive Director, Julia Schwartz-Leeper, effective March 28.
Julia has an extensive background in handling all aspects of running a not-for-profit agency. She has held executive positions with Gramatan Village, Meals on Wheels, and Riverdale Senior Service. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado and a master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University.
Julia has a passion for creating a vision for change and offering inspiring leadership to improve the lives of people in their communities.
