In order to meet the expanding needs of individuals impacted by cancer in our community, Gilda’s Club Westchester partners with New York Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital to provide emotional support and educational programs both in and outside of our Clubhouse.

The following programs are offered at the Cancer Center at New York Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital through a partnership with New York Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital. These support groups are free and open to the community:
Living with Cancer Support Group
Meets the first and third Thursday of every month from 5:00-6:30 PM.
Share your cancer experiences with others and engage in discussion on cancer-related issues. Facilitated by a Licensed Social Worker, this support group complements medical care by providing ongoing exploration of emotional and social concerns, personal wisdom and practical advice that comes from the experience of being impacted by cancer. This group is open to anyone in active treatment.
Meets the second Tuesday of every month from 4:00-5:00 PM.
Facilitated by a Licensed Social Worker. Share your post-treatment cancer experiences with others and engage in discussion on life after cancer treatment. This group is open to anyone who is post-treatment.
Coping Skills Workshop
As a complement to medical care, this 6 week workshop addresses the emotional experience of living with cancer and ways to effectively manage intense feelings, enhance communication and learn coping techniques to decrease anxiety. This workshop is open to anyone living with cancer. Please contact Gilda’s Club Westchester for upcoming dates.
