Healing Through Positivity: Louise's Story
It isn't easy to live with a chronic illness without allowing it to define who you are. But Louise Kuklis is doing it with help from Gilda's Club Westchester.

This is Louise's second time having colon cancer. Her mother had it too, as did her aunt. Louise says her mother was a fantastic role model of how to get on with living without allowing cancer to dominate everything. "Cancer Schmancer" was her motto and she stayed busy and active. So when doctors found colon cancer in a routine colonoscopy 5 years ago, Louise followed the game plan. >>

Enter Your Story in Our Teen Essay Contest
The deadline for submissions to the Teen Essay Contest is fast approaching! If you're a high-school student and you have been impacted by cancer, we invite you to submit your story to the "It's Always Something" Teen Essay Contest by March 20, 2012. We are looking for honest, authentic essays that share your experience with cancer and how it's affected you.
