In Loving Memory of Peggy Hirschberg and Timmy Kohlberg
On Thursday, October 1, the 2015 Gilda’s Club Westchester Bridge and Canasta Invitational in Loving Memory of Peggy Hirschberg and Timmy Kohlberg took place at Beach Point Club in Mamaroneck. This annual event included bridge lessons by Jill Marshall, an extraordinary luncheon provided by Beach Point Club accompanied by a meaningful program. During the luncheon, Liz Stuntz, Emeritus Board Member, reminded everyone that Gilda’s Club Westchester provides essential programs complimenting medical care free of charge for members. She has seen first-hand how people benefit from these specific program initiatives and remarked on how the audience’s support is making a significant difference. Following Ms. Stuntz, Debby Apcar, Gilda’s Club member and volunteer, spoke on her personal experience at Gilda’s and how the clubhouse was there for her during challenging times.
This event, which raised over $13,000, would not have been possible without the support of our luncheon attendees for participating, Board member Amy Frolick for acting as Event Chair, and the dedication of our wonderful Host Committee: Judy Banker, Sheila Cohen, Stacy Eisner, Margot Freedman, Amy Frolick, Jill Goldman, Emily Greenberg, Peggy Grodd, Amanda Hirschberg-Kashman, Gary Hirschberg, Debbie Jacoby, Tom Kohlberg, Sula Pearlman, Jane Sapery, Judy Seslowe, Susan Spencer, and Barbara St. Lifer.
